Preparations
Dear friends,
We have dedided to travel for 20 weeks with our family and VW campervan. In Holland one is allowed parental leave for 13 weeks. So off we go for our third long journey.
At our companies parental leave is unpaid, so we will live of our savings and have added holidays to enjoy 20 weeks without an agenda. From medio September until the first week of February we will visit the Middle East. For our non-Dutch speaking friends and fellow travellers we have decided to have a digital newsletter in English too. We will try to keep it up to date through various Internet places in the countries we will visit.
At the moment we are organising visa. Egypt is already in our pasport, Syria will follow soon. For Libya we will have to use a local touroperator, either Arkno of Sari. Other countries will issue visa at the border without problems and in Europe our pasports will do.
The carnet de passage for the campervan is arranged and we made several short try-out trips. The rough route is set: first to Italy, by boat to Tunesia, through Libya, Egypt, by boat to Jordan, through Syria, Turkye and Greece and back home. But that's still a long way from now!
